Course Description

Goat Production is designed to develop and enhance a range of skills required for employment in the goat production industry.

Course Duration

Certificate II - Full-time: One year

Certificate III - Full-time: One year

Certificate IV and Diploma - Full-time: Two years, Part-time: Four years (dependent on unit selection).

Course Commencement Dates

Late February / early March

Certificate II and III - Years 9 and 10

Certificate IV - Year 11

Diploma - Year 12

Skills Recognition - Exemptions/Transfers

Students may be eligible for exemptions/transfers on the basis of previous qualifications and/or prior experience.

Pathways to Further Study

Successful completion of the certificate courses leads to study at the higher levels. The Diploma may lead to study at an Advanced Diploma level.

Assessment Methods

Assessment methods for these courses include: 

  •      written activities and assignments 
  •      oral activities 
  •      participation in a group 
  •      written and oral tests 
  •      practical demonstrations or exercises 
  •      projects.

Materials

Students will need to provide writing materials.

Qualification

As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.  On successful completion students will be awarded the Certificate II, III, IV and/or Diploma of Agriculture (Goat Production).
