The Building Structures & Services Department is located at the Heidelberg Campus . Courses are held at the Epping and Heidelberg Campuses.

The department offers pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship courses in the following areas:
bricklaying, carpentry, painting, plastering, plumbing, wall & floor tiling and roof tiling.

Students generally undertake training on full-scale projects or on live work projects specifically designed for clients.

Certificate I & II pre-apprenticeship courses are offered in:

The Clay Brick and Paver Association has created an informative web site for young people who may be interested in taking up bricklaying as a trade. The web site has an interactive skills test as well providing profiles of young bricklayers working in the trade.
