| Course Description
The Certificate IV in Arts ( Interior Decoration) offers students the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills required for the selection and co-ordination of colours and soft furnishings in the decoration of domestic and commercial interiors.
Participants will be trained in a range of specific skills which include but are not limited to, computer aided design, materials and finishes, colour studies, design history and presentation drawing.
The Diploma of Arts( Interior Decoration and Design) aims to develop the knowledge skills and attitudes required for working in conjunction with Architects and clients to co-ordinate design treatments and concepts for domestic and commercial interiors.
Participants will be offered training in advanced design and decorating skills which include but are not limited to computer aided design ( 3D modelling), lighting, focus on Industry, business practices soft furnishings.

| Career Opportunities
Graduates of the Certificate IV in Arts (Interior Decoration) may gain employment as assistant decoration consultants in specialised wholesale or retail outlets or with independent interior decoration/design consultancies.
Graduates of the Diploma of Arts (Interior Decoration & Design) may gain employment within the decoration industry or as assistants in design consultancies. Completion of the diploma may provide access to further studies in interior design or architecture.

| Entrance Requirements
Satisfactory completion of VCE, Year 12 or mature age with evidence of ability to meet the demands of the courses.
Students seeking entry to the course should have a demonstrated interest in the vocational area and demonstrated ability in arts related areas (for example, drawing). It would assist course advisers if students were able to provide a folio of artwork at initial interview.
