| Course Description
The Diploma of Equine Stud Management will cover three main areas:
- Practical Horse Management
- Business Management
- Pasture/Farm/Property/Infrastructure Management.
Students will be required to undertake two blocks of practical
placement on a commercial thoroughbred stud during the breeding
and yearling preparation/weaning seasons.

Graduates of this course may gain entry into a wide range of occupations
available within the horse breeding industry and with any associated
equine enterprises such as licensing bodies, equine dentists, transport,
media, publishing and bloodstock.

Full-time: Two years

| Course Commencement Dates
Late February/early March.

| Entrance Requirements
Basic literacy and numeracy skills. Students must complete the
unit RGRH207A Handle Horses Safely before beginning this course.
The unit will be run for those students who have not completed it
prior to the start of the diploma.

| Skills Recognition - Exemptions/Transfers
Students may be eligible for exemptions/transfers on the basis of previous qualifications and/or prior experience.

Successful completion of the Diploma of Equine Stud Management
may lead to study at a Bachelor degree level.

As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised. On successful completion students will be awarded the Diploma of Equine Stud Management.
