available work.

Description
The objective of this course is to prepare school leavers and the
unemployed for employment in the locksmithing industry.
Students who continue on to apprenticeship studies after completing
the Certificate II in Engineering (Locksmithing) will
have the relevant units credited to their apprenticeship.

Graduates of this course may gain employment in the security industry,
which includes fields such as surveillancing, electronic access
and automotive.

Full time: Thirteen weeks

Requirements
Students must have completed Year 10. There is provision for mature
age students who do
not meet this educational prerequisite.

Apply directly to the Mechanical
Manufacturing Department in December/January for Semester 1
intake.

Students may be eligible for exemptions/transfers
on the basis of previous qualifications.

Students completing the Certificate II in Engineering (Locksmithing) Pre-apprenticeship may choose to enrol in the Certificate
III in Locksmithing (Apprenticeship).

Work Placement Component
This course provides for a mandatory addition of a minimum 10 day
work placement. This is available to students through their own

Assessment is by completion of the learning outcomes for each module.
All modules are competency based.
