Welcome to the Mechanical Manufacturing department of NMIT.

Please enjoy this information about our courses that are available.

The Mechanical Manufacturing department is based at the Heidelberg and Fairfield campus.

In our fitting and machining department, students learn about the industry at a basic level.

Due to our practical approach to learning, students are given the opportunity to excel in their field as they advance through the course.

Our fabrication department is made up of three major sections, both light and heavy fabrication, and welding.

These courses are designed to provide students the basic and advanced skills which they can build on through on the job training.

Our locksmithing department is outfitted with today’s trade level equipment , giving our students an advantage when entering the industry.

Our jewellery department ensures that our students use their ideas as well as their knowledge gained to create their pieces of work.

Students are also encouraged to enter their designs in the bi-annual open jewellery design awards.

If you are interested in information regarding one of these courses, please contact the Mechanical Manufacturing department at NMIT on 9269 8670 or visit the NMIT website at www.nmit.vic.edu.au
