Course Description

Video production is the growth area of television production in Victoria. NMIT is a major provider for the industry. The Certificate III in Screen course is designed for people starting out along the pathway to working in the TV and Video Production Industry. Typically students have little or limited experience in video production, and are essentially starting out. The course is part time (around 9 hours a week) and operates throughout the year. The course operates with equipment used commonly in the industry and includes camera operation and non-linear editing.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of Certificate III in Screen can pursue further studies through Certificate IV and Advanced Diploma of Screen towards finding employment in TV studios, production houses, advertising agencies, government organizations and private industry or broadcasting.

Course Duration

Part-time: One year (around nine hours a week for 35 weeks)

Course Commencement Dates

February.

Entrance Requirements

Initial entry to any unit is subject to department approval and will be determined by a personal interview.

Application Procedures

Certificate III in Screen is a full fee paying course and is not administered by VTAC. Applications are made directly to NMIT Performing Arts Department.
