Description
This program is run under the Certificate IV in ESL Professional
and is aimed at preparing migrant professionals, with good English
language skills and recognised qualifications, to enter the workforce
in their professional capacity. It includes six-eight weeks of classroom
input and four weeks of industry placement. The program has a very
high success rate in terms of employment outcomes.
1994 - 2007: More than thirteen years of experience
Benchmarked for excellence this Best Practice course has been successfully
running since 1994. Over 1200 graduates with international qualifications
have benefited by attending this employment focused course.
Unemployed overseas-qualified engineers, accountants, scientists,
computer specialists, social workers, managers, bankers and other
migrant professionals of non-English speaking background are invited
to apply.

This is an employment-focused program, but some participants may
be advised to pursue further study to fill gaps in their skills
or knowledge to enhance their prospects of employment in Australia.

| Course Outline
Participants receive up to 6 weeks of classroom input
and 4 weeks of industry placement to consolidate this knowledge.
The focus of the course is based around Australian management concepts
and practices; Australian workplace culture and communication; communication
skills and cross-cultural communication and; job search skills,
with a focus on company research, job applications and interview techniques.
Students are enrolled in selected modules of the Certificate IV
in ESL Professional, as follows:

Methods
Assessment is competency based and may include:
- oral presentations
- group discussions
- resume preparation
- team work
- report writing.
