Course Description

The program is for people who wish to obtain a school completion certificate at Year 12 level.

Career Opportunities

Students who successfully complete the course will be eligible to apply for a range of post secondary courses.

Course Duration

Full-time: One year

Course Commencement Dates

February.

Entrance Requirements

Students will be assessed at the initial interview to ensure they have appropriate literacy skills to be eligible for the program.

Application Procedures

Apply directly to the Vocational Pathways Department.

Skills Recognition - Exemptions/Transfers

Previous studies at Year 10 and Year 11 may be credited towards the Senior VCAL.

Pathways to Further Study

Students may go on to further education and training, apply for apprenticeships or seek employment.

Assessment Methods

Assessment is ongoing based on the competencies in each strand.

Materials

Basic stationery requirements. Some equipment may need to be purchased for industry specific modules.

Qualification

As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised. On successful completion students will be awarded the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning Senior.

Accreditation

The VCAL is granted when a student has gained 10 credits after completing the competencies in each strand.
