The VCAL/Certificate II in Furnishing will be offered in conjunction with the Design Drafting and Interior Fittings department. •Pre-app Furniture Finishing

On completion, students can pathway into a Certificate III in their choice of trade within the furniture industry.
Students will also be enrolled in VCAL at either intermediate or senior level (depending on literacy / numeracy assessment).
The ‘Triple Trade Workshop’ program will be based on an action-learning model. Students will learn and apply both theory and practical skills throughout the year by setting up and running their own furniture business. The aim is to empower students with both business and employability skills, preparing them for the world of work.

Students must have the ability to work as part of a team and be prepared to commit to the business theme behind the design of the program. Contact hours will be approximately 40 hrs per week in order to fulfil the requirements of both certificates.
Selection will be based on assessment and interview.
