Cathy Clark
Co-ordinator
Cathy is an adult educator who brings over 15 years of experience in working in the field of deafness. She has a Bachelor of Education (Adult) and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Cathy has been at the Centre of Excellence for three years. Prior to that she worked in NSW working in education, training and employment organisations for deaf people.

In a voluntary capacity, Cathy is a passionate advocate for the rights of deaf people and has served on the boards of the Australian Association of the Deaf, NSW Association of the Deaf and, until recently, the Deaf Society of NSW. She has also served on committees including to AADs sub-committee on captioning and Centrelink Disability Advisory Group in Canberra.

Teresa Cumpston Bird
Interpreter & Admin Support
Teresa has worked with the Centre since February 1994; however, her involvement with the Deaf community extends back 39 years to a childhood friendship. Following the completion of a degree in psychology, she has worked in a professional capacity with the community for over 25 years. She has undertaken work in both counselling and case management as well as interpreting. Her work now, though, is solely in the interpreting field. She provides interpreting and administrative support to the Centre.
