  • There is a Blog site for deaf people here in Australia talking about Deaf role models.
  • VCOD is a Deaf run advocacy and information organisation.
  • Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission (HREOC) can help you if you feel you have been discriminated against and want to make a complaint under the Disability Discrimination Act.
  • Disability Standards for Education make clear what the DDA means in relation to education and educational institutions.
  • The http://www.ddaedustandards.info/index.php site is about the Disability Standards for Education which has an Auslan clip on it as well as information.
  • Equal Opportunity Commission Victoria can help you if you feel you have been discriminated against and want to make a complaint under the Victorian Equal Opportunity Act.
  • Disability Discrimination Legal Centre is a free legal service that focuses on cases of discrimination, especially when the outcome of the case will benefit other members of a disability group, in addition to the individual.
  • This RMIT links page for transition gives information for students and parents about moving from secondary to tertiary education.
  • The RDLO & DCOs National Website provides information for young people with a disability who are moving from school into tertiary education in Australia.  It has information for the students, parents and teachers.
  • Gallaudet University is the only university in the world specifically for deaf people.
  • National Technical Institute for the Deaf is at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
  • http://deafness.about.com/ is an interesting website with lots of information about deafness and other topics. It is run from the US, but includes information from around the world (including Australia).
  • http://pubsites.uws.edu.au/rdlo/disclosure/ talks about the decision to tell a TAFE or university about your hearing loss.
