Faculty of Earth Science

The Faculty of Earth Sciences is known for its practical approach to training and high industry involvement in the design and delivery of courses for the agriculture, horticulture, conservation and science technology industries. 

The faculty boasts a fully operational farm, vineyard, horse stud, forklift training area, glass houses for herb growing, a plant nursery, outdoor and indoor fish farms and well equipped science laboratories. 

NMIT is the biggest provider of training to the agriculture sector in Victoria with students ranging from school leavers to experienced farmers seeking new skills and knowledge. 

The institute is also the largest TAFE provider of horticulture training in Victoria delivered at our picturesque Parkville campus.

The faculty offers tailored training for industry in soil analysis, landscape design, skills testing and machinery licencing. It is also home to Australia's first technical resource centre dedicated to the provision of service to the blossoming herb industry.

It also incorporates Australia's first technical resource centre for the rapidly developing herb industry.
