Note: These fees and charges do not apply to Fee For Service Courses and International Students.

Tuition Contributions

Tuition contributions are set by the Government on advice from the Victorian Learning and Skills Commission and are calculated on the basis of $1.37 for each nominal enrolled hour of the course, or part of the course, in which the student is enrolled. For example, if a student enrols in 500 nominal enrolled hours of a course, they will pay $685.

A minimum tuition contribution of $55 applies. Students with less than 40 student contact hours are still required to pay this minimum tuition contribution.

The maximum tuition contribution paid by any student per calendar year is $877.

The maximum tuition contribution paid by Australian Apprentices (apprentices/trainees) and VCAL students is $877, as above.

The minimum tuition contribution concession applies to some categories of students in 2008. If you think you are eligible for the minimum tuition contribution concession, please complete the application form on the back of the Enrolment Form and have it authorised on enrolment. You will need to supply your concession card.

Student Services & Amenities Fee

All students are required to pay a Student Services and Amenities Fee as follows:

Full Fee paying students pay $0.25 per nominal enrolled hour, with a minimum charge of $45 and a maximum charge of $135.
Students enrolling with a Concession Card (Health Care Card, Pensioner Card or Veteran's Gold Card) pay 25% less than the Full Fee charge, with a minimum charge of $45 and a maximum charge of $101.25.
e.g. A Full Fee student enrolling in 400 hours will pay
$0.25 x 400, or $100.

A Concession student enrolling in 400 hours
will pay $0.25 x 400, less 25%, or $75.

Materials and Ancillaries Fees

Class materials and ancillaries fees will be charged on all classes.

Concessional enrolled students - Minimum Tuition Contribution

In 2008, the minimum tuition contribution of $55 applies to the following categories:

students who are receiving government benefits, pensions or allowances
students who are the dependant spouse of a person who is receiving government benefits, pensions or allowances
students who are the dependant child of parents who are receiving government benefits, pensions or allowances.

The person in receipt of the government benefit must hold one of the following cards:-

Commonwealth Health Care Card
Pensioner Card
Veteran's Gold Card

Proof of pension/allowance status has to be verified on the 'Application for Minimum Tuition Contribution' on the back of the Enrolment Form.

Prisoners and Koories enrolled in government funded TAFE courses pay no fees.

Health Care Card Concessions

Students with a valid Health Care Card are entitled to a concession at enrolment when fees are paid.

If a student obtains a valid Health Care Card after enrolment and payment of full fees, the student may apply for a refund at any time in the year of their enrolment.

Paying fees with EFTPOS

Banks set a daily limit on EFTPOS cards. If your fees and other purchases on the same day exceed your EFTPOS limit, please organise an additional method of payment, eg cash, credit card or cheque.
