Academic Head of Higher Education Programs

NMIT has established the position of academic head of higher education programs to provide educational leadership for higher education programs at NMIT.

The academic head is Dr Meeuwis Boelen [ biography ]

The academic head:

• works with academic staff in the development and maintenance of higher education standards and the development of a research culture.
• supervises research and development grants and assists in the development of external links with relevant research organisations and institutions.
• participates as a member of the Academic Committees established to oversee the maintenance of higher education at NMIT.
• assists in the transition of NMIT from a VET provider to a provider of higher education and VET programs. This will involve taking a 'whole of institute' approach that will embed higher education into the culture of the institute.
