Course Description

These courses provide participants with a wide range of skills in the primary-industry sectors targeted at the managerial level. Experience is gained in financial management, production systems, human resources, trading strategies, quality management systems, research trials, marketing and physical resource management.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of these courses may gain entry into a wide range of occupations available within the rural production industry and associated agribusiness enterprises.

Full-time: Two years

Entrance Requirements

There are no prerequisite studies, however successful completion of a Certificate II in Agriculture as part of the VET in Schools program, a VCE Agriculture/Horticulture program to Level 4, or relevant industry experience, will provide a sound basis which may lead to a reduction of the course duration.

Entrance Requirements

  • Successful completion of Year 12 VCE or recognised equivalent with Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, or
  • Successful completion of a TAFE Diploma course in aquaculture, or
  • Mature age entry where applicants can demonstrate capacity to undertake work at degree level.

An additional requirement for international students is

  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Level 6.

  • $9000 a year

Skills Recognition - Exemptions/Transfers

Students may be eligible for exemptions/transfers on the basis of previous qualifications and/or prior experience.

Pathways to Further Study

The Diploma of Agriculture articulates into the Advanced Diploma of Agriculture course. Pathways beyond the Advanced Diploma of Agriculture course have not been developed.
