Course Description

Graduates of this course will be competent in the design of production furniture items, commissioned furniture items, manufacture of prototypes and preparation of concept drawings. Business and marketing skills are also acquired.

Career Opportunities

Graduates may seek employment with furniture designers and manufacturers or as self-employed designers.

Entrance Requirements

Australian Year 12 (or recognised equivalent) or relevant work experience. IELTS 5.5 or higher (or recognised equivalents). Mature Age.

Students will be assessed using the following methods:

  • project based assessment.
  • completion of allocated assignments
  • presentation of furniture design concept projects.

As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework this program is nationally recognised.  On successful completion students will be awarded the Diploma of Arts (Furniture Design).
