Course Description

NMIT offers ELICOS courses at all levels from beginner (elementary) to advanced (English for Academic Purposes). Studies concentrate on development of speaking, listening, reading and writing skills as well as an introduction to Australian society, computer studies and vocational orientation.

All students are assessed prior to commencing the course and placed in a class appropriate to their needs.

Classes are Monday to Friday from 9am-3pm, with 25 contact hours per week (21 hours English and 4 hours Computer Assisted Language Learning).

Career Opportunities

Move to a more advanced English language course. Commence a formal study program at NMIT (Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE) or another institution.

Course Duration

Minimum of 5 weeks with the exception of English Study Skills.

Entrance Requirements

Length of course is subject to English competence determined by a recognised test e.g. IELTS/ TOEFL or by assessment after arrival.
