17 July, 2008

Internationally acclaimed floral designer, Wally (Vally) Klett, Stuttgart, Germany, will visit Melbourne in August to deliver a series of workshops in her specialty area of wedding floristry.

Her first visit to Australia will be supported by NMIT in association with international floral and horticultural product company, Smithers-Oasis Australia Pty Ltd and local florist supplies company, Apack Pty Ltd.

Among her seemingly endless professional credits, Ms Klett is a Master of Floristry (Gruenberg, Germany 1974), Judge-President of the Stuttgart Florist Master School and holds the position of Certified European Judge with the Federation of Professional Florists’ Association. She has judged major floristry competitions throughout the world.

Ms Klett is a Master Florist Examiner and conducts a grueling schedule of seminars, demonstrations and workshops focusing on floristry education, wedding floristry, bouquets and arrangements, trend floristry and Christmas floral design across Europe, America and Asia. An accomplished writer, Ms Klett has authored a number of books on wedding floristry.

In conjunction with NMIT, Ms Klett will deliver two, one day workshops on August 19 & 20 and an evening display of bridal arrangements on August 22. These events will take place at NMIT’s Fairfield Campus.

The workshops will be open to the industry and students of Floristry from NMIT and other institutes, and will provide an unequalled opportunity for participants to explore the latest European bridal boutique techniques and design construction.

Numbers for all workshops will be limited and prospective participants are urged to register their interest without delay:
